Douglas S. Coslett, M.D.
Douglas S. Coslett, M.D., a native of Wyoming Valley, served the community as a private practice physician for 23 years before becoming Chief Medical Officer of Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital this year.
He practiced obstetrics and gynecology in Luzerne County with offices in Berwick, Sugarloaf and Luzerne, forging many strong patient bonds along the way.
A summa cum laude graduate of King’s College, Dr. Coslett earned his medical degree from the Sidney Kimmel School of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, and completed a residency at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, Pa. He remains active in medical education, serving the role of Clinical Faculty with The Commonwealth Medical College and recently being named to the Board of Trustees for the Wright Center for graduate medical education. Dr. Coslett has served in numerous leadership roles at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital including Chairman of the Medical Executive Committee, President of the medical staff, chairman of both the Credentials and Quality Assurance Committees and as the physician lead for High Reliability and Patient Safety. He served on the Founding Board of Directors for the NEPA Clinically Integrated Network. In addition, he is a member of the Boards of Trustees at both Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and Volunteers in Medicine and has served as Interim Chief Medical Informational Officer. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as well as a member of the American Academy of Physician Leaders.
Dr. Coslett and his wife Kathleen have two daughters, Gabrielle and Dominique.
